Pumpkin is a girl! And healthy!
We had our "big" ultrasound on Valentine's Day - it was supposed to be in March, but when I had my routine OB visit on the 9th our OB (our wonderful, wonderful OB) asked when my ultrasound was scheduled, I answered in early March, she asks, why are we making you wait so long? how about next week? ha! go ahead and twist my arm i answer - and everything looks really good.
She is measuring perfectly, one day behind, but that is no big deal, and looks so adorable and cute! The ultrasound tech said 100%, no doubt about it, she's a girl. We are thrilled. Went out and bought our first few girl clothes - a cute little purple onesie set, a little frilly white shirt, and a pink dress. They are adorable.
We will have to have another ultrasound at the end of March and possibly more after that. She would not cooperate and give them a picture of her spine, so they will check that. Also found out I have early placenta previa (when the placenta partially or fully covers the cervix) so that will have to be followed. Most of the time, the placenta is pulled upward by the growing uterus but sometimes it stays put and if so, then there is a problem and most likely a c-section will be done. But most likely it will move on up and not cause a problem, so that is what we are hoping to find in our next ultrasound. If it is still laying low then, it will be followed with more ultrasounds until we see that it's moved up or decide a c-section is needed.
I can't believe I have gotten this far - 18 weeks 4 days today - I am overcome by emotion sometimes just thinking about how blessed I am. We listen in with the doppler once a week and I always find myself thinking "x number of weeks and still a heartbeat!" I am starting to think she will really be here, healthy and beautiful, in July.
